One archive, shared by the family

Our Story is a private, collaborative family archive. A family tree organizes people and relationships; a vault can also contain records, photographs, audio, memories, citations, evidence, narratives, and AI-assisted historical context.

Family owners control membership and roles. Contributors and readers are included without a per-seat charge. Access to living-person information depends on the family's roles and privacy settings.

Keep your sign-in secure and provide accurate account information. Invitations are for their intended recipients. Owners are responsible for membership, role, and custody decisions within their family vaults.

The billing sponsor and family ownership are separate. Paying for a plan does not transfer ownership of family content or another person's payment details.

Family costs $59 per year for one vault. Professional costs $249 per year for up to 10 active vaults. Applicable tax may be added. Plans are annual only and renew automatically for another year unless the sponsor cancels before renewal.

The sponsor can review invoices, update payment details, or cancel through the hosted billing portal linked from Billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Scheduling cancellation does not produce an automatic refund. Any legally required refund rights remain unaffected.

A failed renewal receives a 14-day payment grace period. After grace, the vault is read-only. Nonpayment, cancellation, and trial expiration do not start deletion; reading, owner export, billing, custody, and deletion controls remain available.

The Family trial lasts 30 days, requires no card, and includes one vault, 2 GB of uploaded originals, and 25 successfully completed AI actions. Trial eligibility is limited to once per verified internal account and once per vault. Invited relatives neither start nor consume a trial.

Family includes 25 GB and 250 AI actions per subscription year. Professional includes 100 GB and 1,000 AI actions pooled across its active vaults, with no more than 25 GB in one vault. Storage counts uploaded original bytes; soft-deleted media continues counting until its 30-day purge.

At the storage limit, existing content remains available but uploads pause. At the AI limit, only new AI requests pause until renewal. Cached results, retries, and permanently failed jobs do not consume an AI action.

Professional includes up to three complimentary client handoffs per subscription year, with no more than three complimentary grants active at once. Each vault can receive the benefit once. Acceptance provides one nonrenewing Family year; after that, or for an additional handoff, the client must sponsor Family at $59 per year.

You keep whatever rights you have in content you contribute. By adding content, you direct Our Story and its service providers to store, process, transform, and display it as needed to operate the vault for authorized family members. Only add material you are permitted to share.

AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Treat generated narratives, extraction, transcription, and historical context as research assistance, not verified fact. Review important names, dates, relationships, and citations before relying on them.

Owners can request GEDCOM and full-vault exports, including while payment has lapsed. Private ZIP exports expire after seven days.

Deleting an account removes that person's login, access, direct identifiers, memberships, and person claims. It does not automatically erase shared people, relationships, records, memories, media, evidence, or narratives. Retained contributions are attributed to “Former family member.”

A sole owner must transfer ownership or schedule the vault for deletion. Scheduled deletion makes the vault read-only and begins a 30-day recovery period. Eligible editors may seek custody. Payment failure alone never schedules vault deletion.

Do not use the service to violate law or another person's rights, bypass access controls, distribute malicious code, disrupt the service, or submit content you are not authorized to use. Living-person privacy and redaction concerns have a separate review process; account deletion is not permission to rewrite shared genealogy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, except where applicable law gives a customer protections that cannot be waived by agreement.
