How it works
A name. A memory. A beginning.
You do not need to finish your family history before you start keeping it. Begin with the people and material you know, and build from there.
1. Make a home for your family
Create an account, name your archive and choose where to begin: save a memory, build your family tree or bring an existing GEDCOM file. Adding yourself is optional. You can add relationships and return to missing details later.
Your archive is private. Relatives join through invitations; each person uses their own account.
2. Save one thing worth keeping
Open Archive, choose Memories, then Add a memory. Upload a photo or recording, write a story, or choose Record a voice. For a recording, stop and listen back, choose Add to uploads, and wait for the Saved confirmation.
You can save a memory before creating any person profiles, then link the people involved later. Open the saved memory to add details. You can also add memories from a person’s profile, or use Records for documents and their source details.
A useful first memory might be a photograph with the names on the back, a short voice recording, or the story behind a family recipe.
Get simple family interview prompts →3. Let the family in
Invite a relative as a viewer to explore, or as an editor to add people, memories and records. An editor can change shared material, so choose that role with care. Owners manage the archive’s membership.
One plan sponsors the family archive. Invited relatives do not need to buy their own subscription to take part.
What does the trial include?
The 30-day Family trial needs no card and includes 2 GB of storage and 25 AI actions. One Family trial is available per account. AI tools are available only when enabled for your archive.
Family costs $59 per year. Plans renew annually until canceled; the trial does not automatically charge you. If the trial ends without a plan, the archive becomes read-only. Reading and owner exports remain available; trial expiration does not begin deletion.
