Save your first memory

You do not need a date, a complete story or everyone’s names. Choose one thing you want to keep; you can add the details later.

Before you begin

  • An owner or editor role
  • An active trial or plan to save changes

What would you like to keep?

A photograph or file
Upload photographs. Add pictures from your phone or computer, including HEIC files. You can also upload audio, video and PDFs.
A story in your own words
Write a memory. Start with a few sentences, a familiar saying or the story behind a photograph.
Someone’s voice
Record a voice. Speak, listen back, and save the recording when you are ready.

Add photographs or files

Choose Add files, select your files, then choose Add files to uploads. Keep the tab open until each file shows Saved. Follow the photo walkthrough.

Write a memory

Choose Write a memory, write in the Memory box, then choose Save memory. A title is optional. Follow the writing walkthrough.

Record a voice

Choose Record a voice and allow microphone access. Stop, listen back, and choose Add to uploads. Wait for Saved. Follow the voice walkthrough.

After saving: who is it about, who can see it

Every new memory starts in the Archive inbox until you say who it is about or choose to keep it for the whole family. That is a filing decision, not a privacy one: Who can see this? is a separate control on the item. Anything linked to a living person, or to someone whose life status is unknown, is shown to editors and owners only.

Open the saved memory, choose Link people, and pick the people in it. Add a date and a place if you know them. See the archive inbox and item details for the full set of details.
