From a person’s page open Sources. Each recorded fact, from given names to life status, shows the value currently recorded in the profile, the reviewed sources available to you, and two folds: Record what a relative says about this and Review this fact. Source counts do not measure certainty; they list what has been read.

   Step 1. Add the document as a record and link it to the person.

   Step 2. On the record, or from the fact, say what the source does: supporting, contradicting or context. Quote the original excerpt and note the value the source gives, even when it differs from the profile.

   Step 3. The link stays with both the fact and the record. If the profile changes later, the link shows that it was reviewed against an earlier value.

Record what a relative says about this keeps oral information beside the documents without pretending it is one: who said it, when, and in their words. It can support a conclusion, and it never overwrites a recorded fact.

When sources and accounts disagree, Review this fact lists the alternatives drawn from them. Choose the value the profile should show and write why. The decision is kept with its date and author; earlier decisions stay in the history, and printed chapters can include it. Alternatives are derived from the evidence, so nothing is stored twice.
