Join your family

Start with the link from your relative. An invitation gives you access to an archive; a memory request lets you answer one question.

Before you begin

  • The link your relative sent you
  • Access to the email address they used

I received an invitation

  1. Step 1. Open the invitation link. Sign in, or create an account if you do not have one. If the invitation is pinned to an email address, use that address and verify it.

  2. Step 2. Follow the invitation page to join the archive. Your relative chose your role: a viewer can explore, while an editor can also add and change material.

  3. Step 3. Open Family to explore people, or Archive to browse memories and records. Find your way around when you are ready.

I was asked a question

A memory request gives you access to one question, not the rest of the archive. Sign in or create an account using the email address the requester chose. Follow the steps to answer a memory request.

My link does not work

Check that you are signed in with the email address your relative used. If the invitation has expired or was revoked, ask them for a new one. You do not need to create a separate family archive to accept their invitation.
